Wirraglen is delighted to welcome Una Highfields, a new early learning centre now open directly adjacent to the Wirraglen Estate.

Developed by Hallmark Property and operated by the experienced Una Kids team, the centre officially opened on 2 February 2026, bringing high-quality early education to the doorstep of the Wirraglen community.

The close proximity of Una Highfields makes daily drop-offs and pick-ups simple and convenient for local families, reinforcing Wirraglen’s reputation as a thoughtfully planned, family-focused neighbourhood. The centre caters for children from six weeks through to kindergarten, supporting families throughout every stage of the early years.

Una Highfields has been carefully designed to encourage exploration, movement and connection with the natural environment. Its outdoor play areas exceed regulatory requirements by 20 per cent, providing children with even more space to play, discover and grow. These outdoor learning environments are designed to inspire curiosity, creativity and adventure through play, allowing children to engage with their surroundings in meaningful and imaginative ways.

The centre follows Una Kids’ distinctive “Rewilding approach” to early childhood learning, which places strong emphasis on child-led discovery, curiosity and connection to both nature and community. Educators focus on nurturing healthy bodies and minds through balanced routines, inclusive values and nutritious, freshly prepared meals, while celebrating individuality and empowering children to develop confidence and resilience.

Centre Manager Tiff explains that the learning program is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, which recognises children as capable, curious learners and values relationships, collaboration and the learning environment as a key part of education. Nature-based learning experiences are central to the program, helping children build wellbeing, sustainability awareness and respect for the world around them.

Adding to the richness of the learning experience, Una Highfields is home to a variety of animal companions, including goats, chickens, a turtle and a bearded dragon. These educational animal care experiences support the development of empathy, responsibility and confidence, while creating joyful and memorable moments for young learners.

The opening of Una Highfields further enhances the lifestyle offering at Wirraglen, with essential services located close to home and designed to support growing families. With its considered design, experienced educators and strong connection to nature, the centre is set to become a valued part of daily life within the Wirraglen community.
